What type of power is required to run this fountain? |

Does the water have to be changed frequently? Do you advise that a certain type of water be used to fill these? |
| Distilled water is always recommended; the water should be completely removed and cleaned about once every three months. Our freestanding floor units (72” and larger) have a filtration system to keep the water free of debris. As water evaporates daily your fountain will need to be topped off with water to keep the pump completely submersed. |
Do I need a water line? |
| No, this fountain is self-contained, requiring no drain or water line. As water evaporates you simply replenish the evaporated water every 2-3 days depending on the size of your fountain with fresh water. Water is poured directly into the reservoir/basin, topping-off the supply. |
What about filters and pumps? Do they have to be replaced? |
| The filters are re-usable; they can be rinsed out and replaced in the unit. The pumps have a 6 month warranty. Pumps are water cooled and require being completely submerged in order to work properly. Pumps will occasionally burn out. This is primarily due to the pump being run without proper water levels, causing the motor to work harder, overheat and burn out. |

Can I run my fountain 24/7? |
| This fountain is designed to run 24/7. Turning your fountain on and off frequently will lessen the life of the pump and void your warranty. Please allow your pump to run as continuously as possible. This will lessen the cleaning maintenance from water drying on your unit creating hard water spots. If you plan being away from the fountain for more days than what the water supply will allow, turn your fountain off to protect the pump from running dry. If you are leaving for an extended period of time (more than 10 days) you may consider draining your fountain so you don’t have stagnant, standing water. Replenish your fountain with fresh distilled water upon your return. |
Can chemicals like Chlorine be added to the water? |
| Never pour chlorine or bleach into your fountain. Harsh chemicals like these can ruin your pump, eating away at the “O” rings and parts. Remember using distilled water is always best. We suggest two water additives; Fountec algaecide and Protec calcium reducer or a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. If you are concerned about using chemicals you may add white distilled vinegar to your water supply to cut down on hard water stains. ¼ cup in your water supply every week will make cleaning your fountain easier and is a 100% natural alternative to chemicals. |
How do I clean this fountain? |
| For general cleaning a standard glass cleaning product like Windex is fine. For hard water stains we recommend “Spot X Hard Water Stain & Spot Remover” extremely helpful. Use our Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish Towels to beautify your stainless fountain and repel water. Great on any stainless steel surface! Sold individually or in a 30 count tub. |
